The journal publishes original, peer-reviewed research that advances sustainable development in Africa and beyond. Authors should ensure that manuscripts comply with the journal's scope, formatting requirements, and ethical standards before submission.
The Africa Journal of Sustainable Development publishes original research articles, research notes, review articles, policy and practice reports, book reviews, publication announcements, and reports from sustainable development agencies and institutions. Manuscripts must be written in English and must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere.

Pages should be numbered consecutively. Use title case for primary headings and avoid numbering section headings. Scientific names should be italicized, and chemical names should be written in full rather than as chemical formulae where appropriate.
The manuscript title should be concise, written in title case, and should not exceed 23 words.
Each manuscript should include a single-paragraph abstract of no more than 250 words summarizing the study, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions.
Provide up to five keywords immediately following the abstract.
Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals, placed close to where they are first cited in the text, presented in high quality, and should not duplicate the same information.
References should be current, relevant, and presented in alphabetical order by the surname of the first author. Journal titles should be italicized, volume numbers should appear in bold, and complete page ranges should be provided.
Authors will receive one proof for review before publication. Corrections should be limited to typographical or factual errors. Extensive revisions at the proof stage may incur additional costs.
Authors of accepted manuscripts are required to pay a publication fee of USD 100 per manuscript. One complimentary copy of the journal will be provided. Additional copies may be purchased separately.

Before submitting, authors should ensure that their manuscript falls within the journal's scope, is original and not under consideration elsewhere, is written in English, does not exceed 15,000 words, includes a title (maximum 23 words), an abstract (maximum 250 words), and up to five keywords, contains properly numbered and cited tables and figures, and has complete and correctly formatted references in accordance with the journal's guidelines. Manuscripts should be prepared as Microsoft Word documents and submitted by email to either ajsd.editor@gmail.com or editor.ajsd@ui.edu.ng.
